"Now to him who by the power at work within us is able to accomplish abundantly far more than all we can ask or imagine,
to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen"

Ephesians 3:20

Lord of Life Lutheran Church is committed to reaching others with the love of Jesus Christ. Our model of ministry doesn't require us to do that in the same way, or at the same time. This freedom has allowed the Holy Spirit to flourish through us in acts of kindness...but none of us can see what God is doing in all of us. So...welcome to our sharing page...

Our annual Fore Christ mission fundraiser was August 20, at Chapel Hill Golf Course

Best outing ever ... despite rain. Winners (Kevin Simmons, Drew Kreiger, Tom Dingle, Pat Miller) were 16 under par (!) and, best of all, we raised $2272 for the Roselawn Lutheran Dental Clinic for the working poor. Pastor Ron Redder, of Roselawn Lutheran was present to receive the "check."

Thanks to Many! April 2003
Special thanks to everyone who helped make the Easter Outreach Event a success! Eighty-six volunteers (both LOL members and non-members) welcomed approximately 275 guests on Saturday, 4/19/03. And this year, not only did we have enough candy, we had leftover candy that we donated to the Lutheran Social Services Food Pantry! This ministry couldn't have reached others with the love of Jesus Christ without your help and support before, during, and after the event. Our thanks to everyone who contributed candy, charitable donations, plastic eggs, spiritual gifts, and time.
December, 2002
Two nuture ministries, the Craft Group and Women's Thursday Evening Bible Study, combined to do a service ministry toghether. They made hospital layettes and pillows for distribution just prior to the holidays.
December, 2002
Sarah Dowler and Andrea Dowler volunteer their time to provide child care for Wednesday evening bi-weekly Bible Study group. They accept money only as a donation toward their trip to the National Youth Gathering (Ubuntu!) in 2003. Their time and spiritual gifts allow others to be nutured. It is greatly appreciated!

November, 2002
Lutheran Social Services Food Pantry workers were overjoyed to receive the 4 laundry baskets full of fresh fruit gathered at Lord of Life on Nov. 17. Thanks to all who brought fruit and to Congregation Council members for preparing it!

Thanks to all the Adult Choir members who went to sing for Pauline Stoll and the residents of Whetstone Care Center on Nov. 24. The music was inspiring and your presence was greatly appreciated by Pauline.

Office Manager Behind Bars for Good

Our Office Manager, Mrs. Sue Shough, was "Behind Bars for Good" the week of September 26. Special thanks to all who helped bail her out with their contributions to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Her "jailers" took her away, treated her to lunch, and brought her back to us smiling and appreciative of a chance to share God's love with others. Together we raised $260!
September, 2002

Imagine this scenario. A neighbor falls through a rotted porch, 911 was called. Caring disciples of Christ from this Church recognize the need, and call on our "Hands On Mission Fund" for some help. The team puts a new porch on the house, children are again allowed to play outside. A life is changed by the love of Christ. Special thanks to our "Hands On Mission Fund" donors who make this kind of ministry possible, and to the team of Bob & Jane Price, Bill Gill Stoer, and David Uldrichs for being willing to put "faith in action."
Summer 2002
During the Summer of Service middle school experience in June, staff at Community Kitchen shared that they always need men's pants for their pantry. More than 30 pairs of men's pants were delivered from our Lord of Life community.
